When Emily first got in touch, I was thrilled to be their Shustoke Barns wedding photographer. Having worked many times at this stunning venue I know it well and love photographing there! Emily & Simon’s summer wedding was incredible and one of my favourites from this year. They’re such amazing people and were a real joy to work with! As a Birmingham wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for more!

How Emily & Simon’s Wedding Photography Began!

I was the couple’s Shustoke Barns wedding photographer in August of this year. The weather was warm but overcast, I was very thankful we had no rain! August was a funny month this year, you really couldn’t predict it! As a Birmingham wedding photographer, it’s my duty to you to be prepared for anything, During your wedding I’ll always be looking for the best light and locations. I will take these worries away from you, you’re in safe hands.

As you can’t get ready at Shustoke Barns, Emily had found a gorgeous cottage only a few miles away. Arriving early, I captured all the wonderful details this delightful cottage had to offer.

As a Birmingham wedding photographer, I am always making sure I add the details of your day to the album. The girls were in great spirits and everyone was just so happy! It hasn’t ever actually been any other way for me yet, long may that continue! It really does make my job a joy when everyone is on cloud 9.

Shortly after I headed over to Shustoke Barns for the ceremony. No matter how many times I work at this gorgeous venue, it never fails to impress me. The lighting is second to none and a wedding photographer’s dream! I wanted to arrive a little before Emily so I could get some nice portraits of Simon. He was in his full military uniform which looked incredible. It’s always an honour photographing our service men & women. Emily had also surprised Simon with a Ford Mustang to pick him up. So we just had to do some special shots of him in the car!

I really do love my job as a Birmingham wedding photographer. I get to witness such precious moments in your lives and at the same time do what I love. Each wedding is truly unique and different, capturing the story is what I enjoy most! Every day I wake up feeling blessed I get to call this my career!

How The Ceremony At Shustoke Barns Unfolded

With everyone now eagerly awaiting the bride’s arrival, it was time for one of my favourite parts of the day to begin. The wedding ceremony for me is just magical, I absolutely love photojournalism in my photography. This is the time of the day when I get to really focus on the raw emotion. For most couples, this is the most heartfelt part of their wedding day and it’s such a privilege to document it for you!

As a Birmingham wedding photographer, capturing all the wonderful moments that unfold during your ceremony, is of the utmost importance to me. It really suits my style of luxury wedding photography, as I live for candid & natural moments! After the day is over these will be the moments that transcend time and live through the coming generations. Reminding them just how special your day really was!

I can tell you that this military ceremony did not disappoint and was very heartfelt.

HOW THE REST OF THE DAY AT SHUSTOKE FARM BARNS UNFOLDED.

To my delight the weather was still holding out, meaning we could all make the most of the beautiful outdoor space at Shustoke Barns. Shustoke really does have it all, I know I never stop going on about it, but it really does. A stunning courtyard for canapés or plenty of stunning views just outside the main entrance.

With everyone’s spirits high and the drinks flowing, this is the time I like to blend into the wedding party. Being a Birmingham wedding photographer, I don’t like to stage this time of the day too much. It’s all about the honest story and capturing events as they unfold organically.

After some time enjoying the festivities, it was time for the newlywed’s portraits. During summer weddings I like to do 2/3 different sessions for your portraits. With the longer daylight hours, you really can make the most of all the different lighting conditions. Emily & Simon really were amazing in front of the camera. Emily really knew what she wanted and we’d spoken in great detail about the style of photos she’d like. I was thrilled with how the images turned out.

SPEECHES & SPECIAL MOMENTS AT SHUSTOKE BARNS

Speeches are always a great time during weddings. The very real emotion surrounding this part of the day is why I love them so much. As a Shustoke Barns wedding photographer, I enjoy nothing more than capturing these fleeting moments. Getting to witness and photograph this special time in my couple’s lives really is an honour!

In my Birmingham wedding photography business, I pride myself on being able to anticipate when a moment is about to happen. Speeches are the perfect example of this. you really have to think on your feet to make sure you don’t miss a thing! The speeches at this Shustoke Barns wedding were extremely funny and I had a hard time trying to keep it together, not only that but we had secret waiters in the mix!

SOMETHING TRULY UNIQUE

At every wedding, there is always something truly unique that happens. As a UK luxury wedding photographer, I’m always surprised and amazed by every wedding’s uniqueness. Amongst all the beautiful candid moments, something always stands out to me. At this Shustoke Barns wedding, I will never forget a few particular moments.

The most notable would be the singing secret waiters! The guests and Simon included had no idea they were about to spring into action! One waiter suddenly fell over and everything came crashing down. A brief pause… then the music came on, another waiter through off her cooking gown and the party had begun! As a Shustoke Barns wedding photographer, I was ready to capture the scene as it unfolded! There were so many hilarious photos and I loved it!

The second unique moment would be Emily & Simon’s first dance. They had practiced an incredible routine that blew their guest away, me included. It really was very impressive, check the photos for that 🙂
