“Hi Phil,
Oh Phil I’m in tears looking at the pictures. My mum – who is not one to show emotions (unlike me) has also shed a tear too. I can’t wait for nick to see when he finishes tonight at 10. Thank you so so much”

Rachel & Nick – Birmingham Engagement Photography
Rachel and Nick first got in touch earlier this year and I was delighted to hear about their plans. There is something so magical about a traditional Greek wedding! Not to mention you get to photograph loads of plates getting smashed 🙂 At the time Rachel mentioned that she would be really interested in an engagement shoot, which I always recommend! They really do help break the ice and get you mastering some nice poses ahead of the wedding day!
As I do most of my shoots locally, we all agreed ‘Sutton Park’ would be the best location for their engagement wedding photography. Rachel and Nick liked the fact I have also done many shoots in the Park over the years and know it well. The time of year they had chosen for the shoot was one of my favourites.. summer! For me, Birmingham wedding photography is about making the most of the surroundings and available light. For this reason, I always encourage my clients to do the shoot around sunset, to get that gorgeous golden light! We certainly did get that and I’m so happy for them the sun was shining brightly!
ARE ENGAGEMENT SHOOTS IMPORTANT?
Nearly all of my couples I meet for engagement shoots, have never had any professional images before. When booking your Birmingham wedding photographer, I usually recommend an engagement shoot and there are a few reasons why. First off becoming comfortable with your wedding photographer is key to getting great images on your wedding day.
The engagement shoot is the perfect chance to get prepared for the big day! Having a great connection with your photographer can really make or break it when it comes to getting genuinely beautiful photos! Secondly learning some great poses ahead of the wedding will make the day so much more fun and much less stressful for you. Having that extra confidence on your wedding day will really show in your finished photographs. I don’t envisage any problems with Rachel and Nick as they were so easy to get along with and such naturals in front of camera!
As a Birmingham wedding photographer nearly all of my shoots start in a similar way. In the beginning I always give you some space, this lets you be yourselves and enjoy the whole experience. If you’re happy, relaxed and comfortable with me the camera doesn’t lie! Capturing your ever lasting memories is what I love to do and this should be an exciting part of your wedding journey!
Rachel and Nick really let me lead with their Birmingham engagement photography. I really do love it when I can just express myself creatively and my couples place their trust in me. We got so many wonderful images and I was able to fully flex that creative muscle! That in part is down to these two being so easy going and a joy to work with!
MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM RACHEL AND NICKS SHOOT
Upon arrival the sun was shinning and I was so so happy for them. Rachel and Nick had driven all the way down from Liverpool for the session, so I would of been devastated if it had poured it down! In the good old UK you never can predict it. Another thing I remember clearly was the amazing prop they brought down with them. Rachel had been planning to do the save the dates and one of these photo’s was going to be used for that. That is one of the other perks of an engagement shoot 🙂
