Styled shoots can be a great way for photographers to enrich their portfolio and to learn new skills. However when they use these images for their marketing and couples see them, it can be misleading! 💯 During a styled shoot there’s no pressure, amazing models and beautiful light. They don’t need much direction either, so your job is much easier to capture great photos! A wedding day is nothing like this and the timeline is very fluid! So can photos like this be done on a wedding day? In some cases absolutely, if you have the time and you’ve got an experienced photographer. However if you’ve only done a few styled shoots and that’s the bulk of your portfolio, probably not! I don’t share any photos in my portfolio from styled shoots, it’s all real weddings!
