A DAY TO REMEMBER IN THE LAKE DISTRICT

This was a very unique and special post wedding shoot at the gorgeous Derwent Water in the Lake District. I’d photographed Ben & Charlotte’s wedding a few weeks before but they had always dreamed of some pics in the Lakes. I’ve actually known Ben for almost 10 years and broke my golden rule for only the second time by photographing a friend’s wedding. Ben also used to be a wedding photographer so the pressure was certainly on!

THE POST WEDDING SHOOT!

I made the 3.5 hour journey up to the Lake District and prayed for good weather. This part of the world isn’t notorious for it, but I was hopeful! I’d been planning this shoot in my mind for weeks and Ben had so many ideas of his own! To my absolute delight, the sun was out and we had a chance of getting a sunset!

After the couple had got changed back into their wedding attire it was time to get cracking! We walked for miles and spent nearly 3 hours on location in the build-up to sunset. We certainly made the most of this incredible location and the fab weather.

As the evening drew in, the crowds started to depart and we really did have the place to ourselves. I honestly had to pinch myself a few times as it was the most perfect shoot. These two rocked the poses and really were a delight to photograph.
