As 2025 begins, I’m taking a moment to reflect on an amazing 2024 as a Derbyshire Wedding Photographer. From unforgettable weddings to personal milestones, it’s been a journey filled with love, laughter, and incredible moments. One standout highlight? Winning the Wedding Industry Awards for West Midlands Wedding Photographer! Here’s a look back at the best of 2024.

Winning the Wedding Industry Awards as Derbyshire Wedding Photographer

So this happened earlier this year… I ONLY WENT AND WON! Out of hundreds of talented photographers, I’m honored to have been recognized as the West Midlands Wedding Photographer of the Year. A massive thank you to all my amazing couples—your trust and votes made this possible! 💯

Now, I don’t do this incredible job to win awards—I do it because I LOVE capturing your special moments. But being recognized for my work means so much. A heartfelt thank you to my family for their unwavering support, and to the team at TWIA for organizing such an amazing event. Running down the aisle high-fiving everyone was nerve-wracking, but it’s a memory I’ll treasure forever. Here’s hoping for more incredible moments in 2025!

Moving to further afield: A New Chapter

At the start of 2024, my family and I made the big move from the West Midlands to the South Derbyshire/East Staffordshire border. This beautiful area has been a fantastic new home base, but one of the joys of being a Derbyshire Wedding Photographer is that I get to shoot weddings all over the UK and even further afield. From picturesque countryside venues to vibrant cityscapes, this year has truly taken me everywhere.

This year’s weddings have brought me to some of the most stunning venues. Each one offered its own unique charm and beauty, making them a joy to photograph. My top venues for 2024 include:

• Hazel Gap Barn (Nottingham): Rustic yet sophisticated, with plenty of character.

Each venue brought unique opportunities to create breathtaking images and capture lifelong memories. For a Derbyshire Wedding Photographer, these venues are dream locations to bring love stories to life.

Unforgettable Wedding Moments as A Derbyshire Wedding Photographer

This year has been full of incredible highlights that made every wedding unique. Some key moments include:

• A pregnancy announcement during a wedding—talk about a tearjerker!
• A full-size fairground ride that made for epic photos and memories.
• Epic light sabers illuminating the dance floor—a must for Star Wars fans.
• An ice cream van adding a sweet touch to a summer wedding.
• Capturing a magical day at Chester Zoo.
• Exploring the streets of Bristol and Oxford for urban-themed shoots.

• A spectacular tractor convoy rolling into a countryside wedding, creating a unique and memorable entrance for the bridal party.

• Ending the year with Father Christmas himself making a guest appearance at a festive wedding.

And of course, there were plenty of champagne towers, champagne sprays, smoke flares, international couples, and so much more. Every wedding had its own story, and I’m so grateful to have been part of them all.

One particularly memorable wedding took place at Hazel Gap Barn. With its rustic charm and sophisticated vibe, it provided the perfect backdrop for a couple’s dream day. As a Derbyshire Wedding Photographer, moments like these fuel my passion and creativity.
