A DAY TO REMEMBER AT ALREWAS HAYES
Looking back at this incredible wedding, it was at the stunning Alrewas Hayes. I remember when I first started out as a Birmingham wedding photographer, I was itching to work at this incredible venue! Fast forward ten years and I’ve been lucky to work there quite a few times now! I was very fortunate to actually photograph Emily & Gary’s wedding, as they had lost their original photographer due to the pandemic and rescheduling! That being said, I am so pleased that fate intervened as this was an incredible wedding!
During the period of the pandemic this happened a lot, so many couples had their plans ruined and my heart went out to them all at the time. Let’s hope we as the wedding industry and our couples ever have to endure that again!
BRIDAL PREP
Arriving early as I always do at a wedding, I went off to take some detail shots of the house and landscape. For me as a wedding photographer, I think it’s important to tell the full story!
Once I got upstairs to bridal prep, I knew almost instantly it was going to be a great morning with these lot! Smiles all around, great banter and just the kind of feel good factor I love on a wedding day!
THE CEREMONY AT ALREWAS HAYES
For those of you who’ve not seen the ceremony room at Alrewas Hayes, it’s really quite something! The light is stunning in there too, a real treat for us photographers! I remember Gary being quite nervous, which happens to pretty much every groom 🙂
I always take this moment to really try and capture the feeling of the groom, it’s such a special part of the wedding day. When Emily actually came down the isle Gary couldn’t hold it in, I just loved his reaction at seeing her! Make sure you have a look at the pics, there’s a cracker in there of his reaction!
THE CELEBRATIONS
With the ceremony finished and the newly weds married it was time to step up the party! The weather was overcast but warm so we all on mass headed outside! First up was confetti, everyone got stuck in and I was able to get some great shots 🙂
After this I always encourage you to mingle with your guests and really have that time to see everyone. I always feel if you miss this and go straight into family photos, some of the magic is lost!
MEMORABLE MOMENTS AT ALREWAS HAYES
Some memorable moments for me, had to be the lads all deciding to go and play football! There just happens to be a full size net at the venue and a football was lying around! Do you think the boys could resist? Hell no… it was some of the funniest stuff I’ve ever captured at a wedding and I loved it! You’ll be pleases to hear Gary scored when it was his time to step up, see below for evidence 🙂
These two were amazing to work with, they absolutely nailed every pose I threw at them and made it so easy for me to photograph. Couple that with the stunning views and great vibe and you can’t go wrong! What a wedding, one I’ll always remember!
THANK YOU!
I feel I need to take this opportunity to thank Emily & Gary for allowing me to be a part of their big day! I honestly loved every minute of it and wish you all the best in the future!
