“Phil, oh my god the photos, they are stunning we love them! There are so many lovely moments in there, you’ve really captured everything. Thank you so so much! “
Sammi & Dan
Being Sammi & Dan’s The Mill Barns Wedding Photographer
When Sammi first got in touch, I was thrilled to be their The Mill Barns wedding photographer. I just love this venue and couldn’t wait to be working there again! In my UK wedding photography business, I’ve been blessed to shoot at so many beautiful venues. The Mill Barns is very popular right now and I can fully understand why. It really is a dream for us photographers, with so many incredible features it really does have it all!
Sammi & Dan’s summer wedding was always going to be an amazing day, as they’re such happy humans! Being around people who have such a positive outlook on life really does make my job a joy!
I’m so excited to show you all these photographs from their wedding day. From the moment I turned up, right up until the dancing had ended, this wedding was simply unforgettable! I hope you can feel the emotion of the day through my images. To me, that is what Birmingham wedding photography is all about. I’d just like to take this opportunity to say how grateful I am, that Sammi & Dan allowed me to be part of their special day. As a The Mill Barns wedding photographer, I really cannot wait to be back here later in the year. I’ve also just been added to their recommended supplier list, which is a real honour for me!
How Sammi & Dan’s Wedding Photography Began!
I photographed the couple’s Summer wedding at The Mill Barns in June of this year. The weather was beautiful all day, which we had all hoped for. As a UK wedding photographer, it is my job to be prepared for anything, however, the British weather was fully on our side today!
Arriving early, I like to get some establishing shots of the venue. The Mill Barns has a lot to show off, so I got to work capturing the venue in all its glory. As a West Midlands wedding photographer I am always hunting for the best light, no matter the location.
Shortly after the bridal party began to arrive and to my delight, everyone was in such great spirits. This really does do wonders for your wedding photos! It sounds silly but I always encourage everyone to put some music on and just enjoy the moment. There’s no point stressing over the small things just let it happen 🙂 Sammi & her bridal party were so relaxed, it was really fun to capture the prep as it unfolded!
I really do love my job as a Solihull wedding photographer, as I get to witness these moments in my clients’ lives. Each wedding is truly unique and documenting these precious moments for my couples really is an honour!
Capturing Precious Moments
With Sammi & her bridesmaids adding the finishing touches, it was time to go and find Dan & his groomsmen! Dan had just arrived at the venue and was equally excited about the day! I captured a lovely photo of them all coming over the bridge, I just how natural it is. It’s at this time when the bride is getting into the dress, I really like to make it all about the groom. Most of the morning ‘It’s all about the bride’ so it’s nice to give the groom a chance to shine. I found a beautiful spot in the Mill Barns where the light was just perfect and contrasty. I then took Dan there for some groom portraits.
I’m Very Proud To Be A Recommended The Mill Barns Wedding Photographer!
I can safely say as a The Mill Barns wedding photographer, this is now one of favourite venues! Since the wedding, I have been added to their recommended suppliers list. I have a beautiful wedding album proudly sitting in the venue! As a Birmingham wedding photographer, it’s always such an honour to be recommended by a venue, especially one as beautiful as this!
How The Ceremony At The Mill Barns Unfolded
The ceremony room at The Mill Barns is breathtaking! It has an abundance of natural light and is a barn, which you should know by now… I love barns!
With everyone eagerly awaiting the bride’s arrival, it was time for one of my favourite parts of the day… the wedding ceremony! As a The Mill Barns wedding photographer, I just love photojournalism in my photography business. This is the time of the day when I get to really focus on raw emotion. For most couples, this is the most emotional part of their wedding day and it’s such a privilege to witness and capture this!
In my Birmingham wedding photography, capturing all the wonderful moments that unfold during the ceremony, is so important to me. It really suits my style of UK wedding photography, as I live for candid & natural moments!
I can tell you that the ceremony was full of emotion and very heartwarming. To my delight the weather was still going strong, meaning we could all make the most of the beautiful outdoor space at The Mill Barns.
HOW THE REST OF THE DAY AT THE MILL BARNS UNFOLDED.
With the ceremony now over, it was time for the party to begin! The Mill Barns really does shine now, as you’re spoilt for choice on where to go. A beautiful sun terrace with gorgeous views or a large open space indoors! The canapés were amazing too, I was lucky enough to sample some.
With everyone’s spirits still at a fever pitch and the drinks flowing, this is the time I like to blend into the crowd. As a Birmingham wedding photographer, I don’t like to stage things too much. It’s all about the story of the day and capturing events as they unfold organically.
After some time enjoying the sunshine, it was time for wedding portraits of the lovely couple. Sammi & Dan were such professionals in front of the camera and this made photographing them such a joy. We had already done an engagement session a few months before, so they knew how to nail poses.
SPEECHES & SPECIAL MOMENTS AT THE MILL BARNS
Speeches are always a great time during weddings. The very real emotion surrounding this part of the day is why I love them so much. As a The Mill Barns wedding photographer, I love nothing more than the reactions I see and get to witness and photograph.
In my Birmingham wedding photography business, I pride myself on being able to anticipate a moment. Speeches are just like that, you have to really concentrate and think on your feet to capture the moments that unfold. The speeches at this Mill Barns wedding were extremely funny and I had to focus hard to keep it together 🙂
SOMETHING TRULY UNIQUE!
At every wedding, there is always something truly unique that happens. As a UK destination wedding photographer, I’m always looking for these moments. Amongst all the gorgeous candid moments, something always stands out to me. At this Mill Barns wedding, I will never forget the incredible red sunset we experienced! It was even more magical as the forecast hadn’t been good for the day.
Sammi & Dan seemed to attract these incredible ethereal sunsets. On their engagement session a few months before, we had the most amazing sky I’ve ever seen! This pretty much repeated itself on the wedding day. I’ve never had this happen before in my career, getting the sky like that on the engagement shoot and the wedding day!
